DESCRIPTION OF CATEGORIES

• Humans_A: Referring to “…activities involving work with human beings that are not part of the staff of the participants (beneficiaries, affiliated entities, associated partners, subcontractors, etc)_A”

• Personal data_A: Referring to “…projects with research activities that involve processing of personal data, regardless of the method used (e.g. interviews, surveys, questionnaires, direct online retrieval etc.)_A”

• Animals_A: Referring to “ … research activities involving animals.”

• Non-EU countries_A: Referring to “… activities involving non-EU countries.”

• Environment, health and safety_A: Referring to “… activities that may adversely affect the environment or the health and safety of the persons involved.”

• Artificial intelligence_A: Referring to “… activities involving the development, deployment and/or use of artificial intelligence (AI)-based systems or techniques.”

• Other ethics issues_A: Referring to project-specific ethics issues that do not fall into any of the above categories that may arise in a project, particularly one where new innovation occurs that may raise new ethic questions.
